What prophesies are yet to come?

Question

What are some Laws and Prophesies that are “paused” now, but will be active again when God resumes His program with Israel?

Response

One of the most obvious things that will be active again when God resumes His program with Israel is the preaching of “the gospel of the kingdom” in Israel, and then after that in the world. When “the gospel of the kingdom” began to be preached by John the Baptist it was preached because the time had arrived in Israel’s program for it to begin to be preached. The prophetic time schedule that God had given to Israel in the prophets by which they could ‘count down,’ so to speak, the progress of their program had come to the point when the time for the establishment of the kingdom of heaven on the earth was “at hand”. Wherefore, John the Baptist preached to Israel, “Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand”. And the Lord Himself proclaimed to them, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel”. Therefore, because the time schedule belonging to God’s program with Israel had come to the point when the climactic stage in their program had arrived, “the gospel of the kingdom” began to be preached just as the Lord explained to the people when He said to them, “The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached,…” So then when God concludes this present dispensation of His grace and resumes His program and dealings with Israel, the climactic stage in Israel’s program will once again be in effect and “the gospel of the kingdom” will once again begin to be preached in Israel, and then eventually in the world.

In connection with the resumption of Israel’s program and the preaching of “the gospel of the kingdom”, there will also be the active resumption of “the signs of the times” or ‘the signs of the kingdom’. The prophesied ‘signs of the kingdom’ that validate the fact that the climactic stage in Israel’s program is in effect and that the kingdom of heaven really is “at hand,” will once again be in effect. Therefore, such signs, for example, as in Matthew 10:8 will once again be in effect and actually performed by God. Likewise, will this be the case with those signs of Mark 16:17-18.

Besides this, the various instructions and injunctions that the Lord gave to those preaching “the gospel of the kingdom” (as for example in Matthew 10:9-15, and then in verses 16-20, and in other places) will be in effect and carried out by those preaching “the gospel of the kingdom” when Israel’s program is resumed. At that time, they will also operate upon, and carry out, the things that pertain to their commission when they eventually preach “the gospel of the kingdom” in the world. Therefore, what the Lord commissioned them to do, for example, in Matthew 28:19-20 and Acts 1:8 will be carried out and fulfilled by them. Hence baptizing the Gentiles as per Matthew 28 will be in effect and fulfilled by them.

Some other examples of things that will be resumed and in effect once Israel’s program is resumed are:

  1. The “spirit of antichrist” preaching both in Israel and among scattered Israelites will resume, which had begun near the end of the Lord’s earthly ministry and was addressed by John in I, II, and III John.
  2. The Lord’s own activities in connection with fulfilling the rest of the mandates of the Davidic Covenant will also resume and be active again. From the time that God suspended Israel’s program the Lord has not been functioning in connection with fulfilling all the mandates of the Davidic Covenant. But when Israel’s program resumes, the Lord will once again begin to function to fulfill those mandates, as Paul points out in Romans 11:25-27.
  3. Likewise, the rest of the things in the Law “which are shadows of things to come”, as Paul sets forth in Colossians 2:16-17 and as such have nothing to do with us in this present dispensation, will once again be in effect and will fulfill their function of being “shadows of things to come”.
  4. The Holy Ghost will resume functioning in accordance with the things that are prophesied about His ministry during the climactic stage of Israel’s program. Hence, for example, He will resume functioning in accordance with Joel 2:28ff.
  5. Also, Satan himself will resume functioning in accordance with what is prophesied about what he needs to do, and will do, in his opposition against the believing remnant of Israel, and in preparation for establishing the power of “the man of sin” on the earth, which during this present dispensation he is prevented from doing.

These are just a few examples of things in the law and prophets that will be active again when God resumes His program and dealings with Israel.
