The two arks built, Deuteronomy & Exodus

Question 1

How can we know which “ark” is which (i.e.; the one Moses built, Deu 10:1-5:2; the one God designed, Ex 25:9-16) in any particular Bible context (especially Exodus through Deuteronomy)?

Response

My understanding is that except for what Numbers 10 records about the ark going before them, (and this being the other ark, or Moses’ ark), the other references are to the one that God gave Bezaleel the wisdom to build, which the Levites transported and that resided in the sanctuary of the tabernacle. My understanding is that Moses’ ark served the specific purpose described in Numbers 10 regarding Israel’s journeying.

Question 2

What happened to the ark that Moses built and, then, where do you think the ark that God built might now be located if it’s still intact (somewhere on earth or in heaven, Rev 11:19)? Or, is the ark in heaven the one that Moses built?

Response

I think the ark in heaven is probably the one that God had Moses build, and it was taken there by God once its purpose in going before the armies of Israel to the border of the land was completed. In view of the significance of this ark going before the armies of Israel in their journeying, I believe this is why John is given to see it as he does in Revelation 11 and 15, and why he is given to see it at the specific times that he does see it in the progression of the events that are set forth in the book of The Revelation of Jesus Christ.
