QUESTION
In our earthly experience our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers and other relatives that we have known and have witnessed to, say for instance that your mother – father – sister – brother, wife or children etc., end up not being saved how then can you possibly enjoy Heaven knowing that these people who mean much to you are lost.
RESPONSE
Simply put, we are going to “enjoy Heaven” in spite of those whom we know are lost, and we will do this in the very same way that God Himself will do it. The fact is that God loves more people who will end up being lost than we will. Every single person who ends up in hell, and then the lake of fire, is someone that He loves and for whom Christ died having loved them. Nevertheless though this is so, and though during this present dispensation God is longsuffering, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance; He is not going to be in sadness and grief throughout eternity with regards to those who reject His love and offer to save them. And the truth of the matter is neither will we. In accordance with our education and edification in Godliness, we too will think as He does and respond as He does when it comes to the judgment of the unjustified. And therefore what solaces His spurned love and grace as they are judged, and settles His soul with regards to their judgment, will solace and settle ours as well.
And of course this will be true not only with ourselves, but also with the saints in God’s program with Israel; and it will also be true for more issues than just this. Hence, for example, as God said to Israel through Isaiah with regards to the fruits of His day and the establishment of His kingdom, “He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord
GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces”; and again, “they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away”; and also, “For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be ye glad and rejoice forever in that which I create:…”
