Crown of Righteousness

Question

I feel and believe that the apostle Paul will be given the highest position in the governmental positions in the heavenlies. I am wondering if you agree with this?

Response

I know that I am not going to be the least bit surprised if this is the case. However, I also know from what Paul says to Timothy in II Timothy 4:7–8 that “the crown of righteousness” that the Lord shall give to him “at that day,” will be given just as Paul says, “and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” Paul, therefore, knew that this same reward from the Lord that he would receive would also be received by others who likewise with him “love his appearing” and as such ‘fight a good fight, finish their course, and keep the faith.’ In similar manner did he exhort the Philippians to follow his example and “press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” So my understanding is that Paul saw others as being able to receive from the Lord “at that day” the very same that he expected to receive.
