Question
Is there is any writing about a child who is born, or created, without a soul. With the successful cloning of the human embryo, would the clone a child without a soul?
Response
First off, I am not familiar with anything in the Bible about a “soul-less child”. I do know that there are a number of popular books out today about the end times, in which the authors set forth various scenarios about how they think things might progress leading up to the time of the antichrist. It is possible that in one of these works someone set forth a “soul-less child” scenario in connection with the issue of cloning. But again, I myself am not familiar with the Bible setting forth any such thing.
Regarding the issue of human cloning itself, at the present time I’m not all that sure what to make out of what is being said and claimed by the present scientific/medical community. One of the reasons for this pertains to the issue of conflicting and changing definitions and claims by those involved for just what is being done by cloning. Not everyone says the same thing, nor makes the same claims regarding what is being done. And since the prevailing viewpoint and thinking is controlled and driven by evolutionary thinking, naturally the definitions and descriptions used within the present day scientific/medical community regarding issues such as “life” and a what constitutes a “person” and a “living person” and the like, are not consistent with, or sometimes even remotely compatible with, what God says on these matters. And to be frank, I just haven’t bothered to take the time to try to sort out just what the scientific/medical community is saying, and to determine which of their claims on this matter, if any, have any real substance to them.
However, I do know from God’s word to and for us in this present dispensation that “science falsely so called” will not only always be a big issue when it comes to continually corrupting and deceiving the minds of “the natural man” and so advancing on man’s ungodliness, but it will also greatly influence members of the body of Christ itself, even to the point of causing some to reject things that God says in His word because ‘science’ seems to have shown things to be otherwise. There is such a thing as ‘true science,’ but it does not hold sway in any of the main disciplines of scientific investigation, study, and/or pursuits today. (In fact, unfortunately all too often, ‘true science’ does not hold sway among Christians themselves who work or are involved in one of the scientific disciplines.) “Science falsely so called” holds sway today, and has for quite some time now, especially when it comes to presenting the results of scientific/medical studies to the public for the purpose of shaping people’s opinions, understanding, and outlook, in view of them. And so, in view of this, along with what I have previously said about conflicting definitions and claims, again I’m not sure just what to make out of what is being said regarding cloning; except to say that for any and all ‘natural men’ it will undoubtedly work out to advance their ungodliness just that much further.
You may be able to find some information about ‘true and false claims’ regarding cloning and the like from places like the Institute for Creation Research (ICR), www.icr.org; or Creation Science Evangelism, www.drdino.com; or from some other site to which they have links. Organizations such as these spend the time looking at the claims of modern science and evaluating them.
