Lessons 1–9 introduces the series by identifying the root causes of doctrinal discord among Christians, then applies right division to the first and foundational controversy: the doctrine of the Lord’s return. This study establishes that God has two distinct programs in the Bible — one for Israel and one for the Body of Christ — and that each has a separate return of Christ associated with it. By keeping these two programs distinct, the confusion surrounding the rapture, the tribulation, and the timing of Christ’s return is completely resolved. Israel’s return is post-tribulation, to the earth, as a man of war; our blessed hope is a pre-tribulation rapture delivering the Body of Christ from the wrath to come, found exclusively in Paul’s epistles.
Lessons 10–17 examines the widespread controversy surrounding water baptism. Keith demonstrates that the controversy exists entirely because of improper Bible handling — particularly the failure to rightly divide the word of truth and to keep the things of Israel’s program distinct from God’s program with the Body of Christ today.
Lessons 18–31 is the most extensive section of the series, examining the deep controversy surrounding spiritual gifts, signs, wonders, and miracles. This study demonstrates that over 95% of all references to spiritual phenomena in scripture belong to the portion of the Bible pertaining to Israel’s program — because God covenanted with Israel to do marvels among them and for them to see His work in their midst. God made no such covenant with the Body of Christ. Instead, the principle for us in this dispensation is to walk by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7).
